KTR material treatment:
Sandblasting, coating and painting – perfect preparation for further processing

When preparing metal surfaces by sandblasting, KTR does not only take into account the technical aspects, but also the ecological ones. In a free jet system, metals are deep cleaned and cleared of rust, oxidation or paint residues. Afterwards, the slightly roughened surface offers perfect adhesion for all further processing.

In order to make rubber-metal-compounds and polyurethane-metal-compounds extremely durable, we prepare the connecting surfaces by coating them.

We paint parts (batch and large-scale production) in all RAL colours.


KTR mould making and tooling:
Milled, turned and tested – ready for series production

Product quality starts with the tailor-made tool. Our moulding and tooling department produces tools for articles of our own development as well as those for customer-specific developments. Our core competences include mould-making, gauge-building and production facility construction. Before use, all our injection moulding tools are thoroughly tested regarding their functionality. For this purpose, we install them in a suitable injection moulding machine and examine slide mechanics, jacks, hydraulics, splitter diameters, feed points, separation, cooling as well as de-forming. When the functional tests prove the tool's perfect performance, it is ready for its application – guaranteeing a smooth operation from the beginning.


KTR elastomer technology:
Quality and function, series by series

Our integrated view of our customers' specific needs helps us to develop the perfect rubber-metal-parts and rubber-plastics-parts for each application. In the first step, together with you we examine the requirements the specific product has to meet in everyday practice. Accordingly we choose the right rubber compound from a broad range of rubber qualities. Among others, we have NR, SBR, BR, IIR, EPDM, NBR, CR, CSM and VMGS at our disposal. When necessary, we use compounds with special advantages concerning thermal or chemical stresses like FKM (Viton A) or compounds that are suitable for the food processing industry. Afterwards, our intensively trained specialists process the chosen materials using modern, controlled injection moulding machines. We comply with highest standards by constantly monitoring our production and product quality. With regard to our product development, we stay flexible: we continuously optimise the quality and functionality of all products – for an even better availability and efficiency. All required rubber processing moulds are developed, manufactured and carefully maintained in our own tooling department.



KTR Polyurethane processing:
Moulded parts with individual properties, optimally combined

We process polyurethanes by gravitation as well as by injection. The gravitation processing of polyurethanes provides several practical advantages. Solid basic components are processed to moulded parts by pressing or injection moulding. Liquid components of cast polyurethane however products, can be casted to complex moulded parts of all sizes without any plasticisers. The necessary casting moulds are easy to produce and therefore very cost-effective. After a very short processing time they can already be de-formed. Only afterwards, out of the mould, we give them their optimal microstructure by tempering. In this process we can systematically dose the components inserted to the formula to adjust a broad range of properties – for example shore hardness – to your specific demands. However, when small-dimensioned polyurethane articles are produced in large numbers, the injection process is our method of choice.


KTR plastic injection moulding:
Your product in perfect shape – we've got the tools it takes!

For many years now we have been developing and manufacturing diverse products made of thermoplastic materials. From expert consultation and in-house tooling to the first-class results we are determined to meet your specific requirements. With moulded part weights from one to 2.500 grams and with the processing of all common thermoplastics and thermoplastic elastomers, our flexibility is nearly unlimited. Among other materials, we process PE-LD, PE-HD, PP, PS, SB, SAN, ABS, PMMA, PA 6, PA 66, PA 6-3-T, POM, PET, PC and PU gunning materials. Besides we produce items that are subjected to special stresses – for example chemical stresses – from PTFE semi-finished products. When required, we use dual component technology. If the production tools are not supplied by our customers, they are manufactured in our own tooling department. Even at short notice we produce all experimental tools, pilot series tools and production tools. Afterwards we use state-of-the art tie-bar-less injection moulding machines to finish your individual, highest-quality products.
